Harish Kakaiya commented on Do emissions and fuel used increase with 20mph limits? 2024-07-05 01:16:26 +0100I notice, just like politicians use Stats, many people use the science that suit there cause and dismiss the science that refutes there agenda. There is a lot of scientific proof that city driving consumes more in fuel than driving the same distance at 70mph. Also, by going slower, the car would effectively be on the road for longer which if you check you science mean that the overall fuel used, thus Co2 released, is higher. There’s also the science of aerodynamics. As a car goes faster, it gets lighter caused by the air being compressed when passing under the car. Most people understand that a lighter car means less fuel consumption. I can continue, but I’d be here for hours writing a list of proven science that refutes the whole thing.
