...to 20’s Plenty for Us, the not for profit Community Interest Company that supports and advises local communities and authorities wanting 'better places to be'. Apolitical, we work with organisations and individuals that are trying to get a 20mph speed limit in their cities, towns and villages. We receive no government or political party funding.
- Nearly 30 million people in the UK live in places committed to 20mph
- On 7th December 2023, Scotland announced 20mph on all appropriate roads by 2025
- On 17th September 2023, Wales implemented a 20mph national default for residential roads.
- The UN General Assembly endorses 20mph speed limits where people and motor vehicles mix.

This one focusses on behavioural and cultural factors that shape the success of 20mph implementation, drawing lessons from Wales and beyond. Attendees will gain insights from new casualty data, learn from behavioural science research, and hear reflections on the evidence behind national reviews and professional guidance. Impressive line up of speakers including Phil Goodwin, Kate Carpenter and Sue Nicholls, 20’s Plenty for Us CIC .

Will Norman, London's Walking and Cycling Commissioner, discussed the benefits of making London effectively a default 20, Dr Suzy Charman, Executive Director, Road Safety Foundation spoke about the importance of “survivable speeds” in achieving zero road deaths and Sue Nicholls, 20’s Plenty for Us CIC summarised progress towards a ‘de facto' default 20mph across Wales, Scotland and England.

20's Plenty for Us was delighted take part in the National Vision Zero conference at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on 15th May 2025. Organised by Landor Links, the event was hosted by Liverpool City Region and sponsored by Project Centre. Delegates heard how 20mph is foundational for anyone wanting to achieve Vision Zero and how to embed 20mph in a safe system approach. Rod King's opening address to a plenary session is here and a full report on the conference will be available shortly.

The second in our series of webinars on Delivering 20, entitled "Reviewing the latest results from Wales and beyond" has already reached over 1,000 views. Attended by over 500 people on the day, expert speakers discussed what the latest results from Wales mean for Local Authorities in England. You can see the video here or on the image opposite.
A deep dive analysis from PJA Ltd and Agilysis showed how the the first 12 months of 20mph has reduced road casualties by 28% - more even than during COVID - and how 20mph is being rolled out across England. Esure Insurance group explained how 20mph is reducing risk in Wales, leading to fewer insurance claims and lower premiums.
In conclusion, we discussed why and how 20mph should be a foundation of the UK Government’s Road Safety Strategy.
