Timed alongside the launch of Edinburgh’s wide area mandatory 20mph limits, 20’s Plenty for Us were invited to programme a conference showcasing the UK’s 20mph experts. ‘Ready for 20 Scotland’ aims to share knowledge and facilitate networking amongst professionals about Total 20 – the policy of wide area 20mph speed limits for built up areas. It has a Scottish focus, in recognition of the variations in speed limit guidance across the UK. In recognition of its importance, the conference is being sponsored by Transport Scotland.
The conference is a celebration of the progress of 20mph limit adoption in Edinburgh and recognises that other Scottish places are also moving towards 20mph default limits. Glasgow City Centre, for instance is 20mph, as is Dunbar.
Speakers include politicians, transport practitioners, police, public health, marketing and campaigning experts.
